i am doing some resarch ont he above to CAD software packages.i need to do a comparison of the two.i would like to know what you esatoians think of the two diffrent softwares to help with my resarch.

I found AutoCad very intuitive. Regular updates and add-ons were available too. Though I haven't used it for a while now.

AutoCad is very good.....
with teh inclusion of an x-ref manager etc it helps to make one drawing accessible and editable within a number of drawings saves me a lot of time in work...
im learn autodesk Revit though at teh moment and that blows AutoCad out of the water to be honest...
not sure about teh other program mate, not used it.....

solid edge has part update so if you update a part. it will automaticaly update any other drawing that part is used in .and its easy to draw in 3d and make a 2d projection

I would say Autodesk Inventor is impressive. Then there is Catia and SolidWorks as 3D mechanical packages. AutoCAD is good as a simple 3D modeling the other ones if you want to get serious.
