Hi guys,
Im new to this forum so hello all, I have recently upgraded to a K800i from the w800i. I used to be a Nokia man, but have now had 3 Sonys in a row.
Have been having a play but the one major thing thats different apart from not having any LEDS as a torch is that the the two top buttons left and right (on mine one says menu and one says toolbar) on my W800 the left one was calls, and on this one its menu, which I can get into by pressing the joystick in anyways. Can these be changed? I have changed the joystick shortcuts but cant find any way of changing these 2.
Thanks

Err guess it is, it does say Vodafone on it. What can I do to debrand it? I take it that will solve my problem so I can change them?
Thanks |

use wotanserver.com and no it wont let you change them but it will make them revert back to the way they should be(like your k800i), also the green and red phone buttons will revert to internet(far left) and shortcut menu(far right) |

I used wotanserver as advised, and it has indeed made my buttons go back to what they were. However in doing this other things seem to be much worse, mainly the speed of the phone seems to be much slower, and for som bizarre reason the phone signal is allot less that what it was. This is not good for me as I live in a bad signal area anywaya nd the old software meant I could use the phonein more than one place in my house.
I do appreciate your help guys but can you tell me, is the only way to get it back to how it was to take it into a shop and ask them to do it?
OR is there another way?
Would have posted earlier but seems im limited to 3 posts being a newb
Thanks |

Damn,
Wish I would have thought of that earlier.. forgot about the green button. So can anyone help in getting the old firmware back on?

not unless you can actually get the firmware files from somewhere, then load them into kulankendi and flash it with that |

So debranding will remove the 'cancel everything' function of the red phone button? I'm used to being able to hit that several levels deep in a menu and it go back to standby - do I lose that functionality by debranding? |

I have to add, when I plugged my K800i into the PC for firmware modification I started getting major problems with the phone dying eventually. |
