K800i slowing down while writing messages |

I have a K800i, it's been working well for some time but lately has been getting slower and slower while writing messages. It is particularly noticeable when the phone starts calculating and displaying the number of characters I have left, so about 20-odd characters from the end of the message.
It's getting really annoying - anyone know what might be causing it and how I could fix it?
I have no memory stick in there at the moment and the phone has 1mb free internal memory. Could low memory be causing it?
Note that I got this one as a replacement for a damaged K800 recently and it came with new firmware (R1ED) - the previous phone never did this. |

maybe you should upgrade the firmware to R1GB001 or better yet bring it back to your local se shop/repair station it still has warranty |

Thanks for the input. So far no problems with music being played, it's the message interface that slows down. It speeds back up as soon as I get into message 2 (and the counter disappears).
I was considering taking it back to Vodafone, also thought about firmware upgrade. Just wanted to see if anyone has experienced the problem and whether there's known solutions.
BTW I freed up another few meg of memory (6mb free now) and it makes no difference. |

it seems to be a processing speed issue.

I have recently experienced this very problem. I'm also having a problem with the Create message shortcut in that there is a slight delay before the screen loads. I'm on Vodafone. |
