Hi... for some time now I used lonely cats' "smartmovie" to convert videos to a mobile compatible avi-format (i.e. you use smartmovie's player installed on your phone)... Smartmovie in its default (i.e. best quality) setting pretty much CONVERTS 1MB(ANY FORRMAT) TO 1MB AVI - great quality, but say a proper movie boils down* to a chunky 650-700mb...
"imTOO" also converts most formats, but to 3gp. So, a 700mb movie really boils DOWN* to 70-ish mb 3gp. Quality is obviously not as great, but for a once off viewing of some silly clip, the savings in terms of memory are obvious.... Why do I mention this? Err... yeah, well "imTOO" ... Not bad?
Know any other converters - other than imTOO/smartmovie (btw, smartmovie's pc-installed converter part is somewhat "moody" as regards to finding video files on your pc...) [addsig]

If your converting a movie why not put it into MP4 format it stays fairly small and the quallity is way better than 3GP and you can do this with Imtoo.

thanks, will try that! Just used a trial verion initially... Haven't experimented at all, yet! I just cannot figure out why smartmovie sometimes refuse to "find" files - espec'ly those downloaded via mp3-rocket... ImTOO scans all subfolders for videofiles in the same way, e.g., nokia pc-suite scans all subfolders for any and all music files... Why can't smartmovie do that - or am I stupid/blind??? Have re-re-re-installed both mp3-rocket and smartmovie converter numerous times... Seems totally random wether it "finds" a file or not - while it's right there in the folder and windows- and nokia mediaplayer find it/play it without problems... Anyhow' will try the imTOO thing!
Thanks [addsig]

There are many converters in market.I know a converter which enables the function to drag and drop videos to the program. It is Moyea Video Converter. It has comprehensive video input formats and output formats. It does a great favor to people who have some portable devices, which just support a few formats. Don’t worry about the conversion speed and the output quality.

Okey,you can get it at:http://www.my-video-converter

@mag - Been using this just for MONTHS and it's just GREAT (been LOOKING for something like this for ages, until:whizkidd posted the LINK). But I guess it can ONLY convert a maximum file size of: 150 MB
