I figure this is probably a no, but The volume slider broke of my Ericsson T68 (this is the second time this has happened to me in the last month).

Basically I'm wondering if there is a key combination that will allow me to adjust the volume, as at this point I see it likely that if I do fix it, it will break again...

If you have warranty left on your phone you can leave it to a service center and they will fix the volume slider for you.

How do I find one? On the ericson website it states warranty repairs are done though the seller. The seller is telling me that there is NOTHING they can do and tell me to contact the manufacturer. They state that even though I dropped it only 1 foot, I'm responcible so there is nothing they can do except replace my phone under the insurance... My biggest fear here is that I've had 2 seperate phones break in this same mannor in litarally less than a month of owning the model. It's bound to happen again...

The manufacturer/seller will only replace the phone, under warranty, if it was faulty when you got it. Since yours is a problem due to a little mishap they don't have to do anything.

If you want it fixed you'll have to go through your insurance, that's what it's there for...

My biggest problem here is that the mishap should not have been capable of breaking the phone. As it stands I have a dibilitating medical condition. Some of my symptoms include but are not limited to an inablility to fully close my fist, and major detrament to my overall strength and dextarity. Had I known that the phone was fragile enough to break even if I sneezed on it, I deffinitely would never have purchased it. This is the forth model cell phone that I've purchased, and it's broken twice (once by no fault of my own, it simply broke due to normal use). I've owned 3 other nokia's (one of which I still carry for work) and have NEVER had one broken. I also carry a ton of other electronic devices, none of which has ever broken either. The mishap was only a mishap based on the fact that I did not mean to let go of it as soon as I did. I'm completely certain that had it not broken the way it did, it would have broken for the same reasons my first t68m did -- by simple use. It just seems like I shouldn't be heald accountable due to the problem occuring unluckaly when I let go of it a second too soon. It's fully obvouis that had it not broken when it did, it would have within a couple weeks anyway due to normal use (as the first one I got did). It almost seems as if this defect is purpously manufatured to break in the manner it does...

I actually own an apple ipod, which was refurbished. I dropped it from over 5 feet above street pavement with it landing face down on the pavement durring a heavy rain storm. As it stands it doesn't even show much sign of a mishap...

I *really* don't want to use my insurance because if the damn thing broke twice in less than a month, it's blaitantly obvous is WILL break again. I feel like an idoit for buying the damn thing because it's only the m model and it cost me $200 along with a 2 year contract upgrade. I could have bought the i model for only $50 with a one year contract at another store. Furthermore the store which I bought it at stopped carrying the m model a week after they replaced my first phone. If I have them replace it, I'll need to wait a few weeks for a replacement to come.

The fact that there is only one way to change the volume is really annoying!

I dropped my t68 on holiday and lost the slider and couldn't get it replaced for about 3 months.

Fortunately I left the volume on full which is better than too quiet I suppose but embarassing in the cinema - believe me!

Changing the whole cover might work... or using the T6 screwdriver to repair it yourself..

During a call, you can higher the volume by pressing any number in the volume menu.

But you still have to use the slider to get there first!
