I just got the HPM-85 headset yesterday, and i just have to say that apart from the questionable build quality, this is the best headset for a mobile. It's even better than most of the regular headsets i've used. The remote isn't that good though, it works but the buttons are sometimes a bit hard to press, and i think they should've put the 3.5mm connector and microphone inside it to clean up the appearance. Anyways. great headset, and the price isn't very high.

I think i'll use this headset for my iPod as well.

Btw, anyone know which sony headset this is based on?

I did consider getting the HPM-85 too, but wasn't sure I'd be using my phone for listening to MP3s that often since I have an MP3 player. Anyway, I believe the HPM-85 is based on the Sony DJ headphones, perhaps the MDR-V300 in particular. Check out this link: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-b[....]adphones_CDSeriesStudioMonitor

i'm thinking of getting a set of these myself. I'll get a pair of "in-ear" eaphones as well for outdoor use. I'd feel a bit of a pillock walking in public with a set of full-size closed-back headphones on.
What's so bad about the build quality? They seem a good buy though, £10 cheaper than the HPM82 and the remote looks the same.

yup its true, its a great headset. i have it for myself, and love it very much.
u better consider this one instead of hmp-82. the remote and 3,5 mm jack makes u possible to change with regular in-earphone such as in hpm-70..and voila, u've got ur hpm-82 as well.

Update: just tried them with my iPod nano as well. Great sound quality

@willo
It just feels plasticy and cheap (maybe that's why the set is so cheap?:p). some hinges could have been tighter, and it make noises when i bend it wider than my head..
