In order to get your phone to work properly after an upgrade you HAVE to do a "master reset"! If you or the servicepoint don't do a backup of your contacts it's gone....

Just a tip from the source

And how do you do a "master reset"?
Can you do it yourself?

What happens after master reset?
Do you lose anything? Contacts, data accounts, calendar, profil settings, background pic..... ?

I never did it.

Thanks.

Just wondering :

If the service-point takes a back-up of your phone's data.

How much is actually saved (e.g. data-accounts, gprs-settings, email-settings, wap-settings,....and so on)

I dont mean backgroundpicture, sms-messages and high-scores,..but the more important things

Does anybody know this ?

------------------

And if you do it yourself, I guess the only way, is to use xtnd-connect, right ?
How much data does this program save ?

------------------

For backup use this prog: http://www.christersson.org/www/download.asp?Id=4

In future firmware versions (after R2b) dont use master reset because you lose to much information and it's not necessary! I think it's done in the upgrade process

Thanks,..I'll have a go with this program.

Havent opened the prog yet,..I suppose you can use it with IR ?
(i have ir on my laptop)

What I really want is to save the important things like gprs,wap,email-settings, and contacts/phonebook.

Basically because these are the things, that take time to put into the phone.
