i recently got myself a w850i (my 1st phone ever)
it has the standard 1gb pro duo mem stick
the first thing i did with it was transfer some tunes on to it from my computer which was surprisingly simple and it worked
i got fed up with them so i deleted all the music files and now when i try to put music on the phone it only lets me put approx 20 tunes when before i had at least 120 tunes before they were wiped
the strange this is that the mem stick memory has 871 MBs available?
any help at all would be great
thanks

do you get an error while transferring? Are you using disc2phone or just dropping files direct in the music folder (or mp3 folder, not sure the name on W850) via the drive letter in my computer?

Are you sure that you actually deleted the first batch of songs, or did you just delete them for the walkman playlist?

How much memory do you have left in the card?

Don't know if this 'bug' has already been discussed on the forum...

Often, when I'm trying to transfer music (copy/paste) to my memory stick, I'm getting some error regarding a bad sector and it stops the transfer at that particular last file/song. I need to delete one other song, before I'm able to continue ... strange ... but hey, true.

Well, if you don't mind losing the songs that you already have on there, do this.

With the memory card already in the phone, go to the file manager and select "Music"
Press "More" (right soft key)
Go To "Memory Status"
Select "Memory Stick"
Press "More" (right soft key)
Select "Format M.S."

yup "bad sector" means the file system is corrupt or the card is damaged. If it's just corrupt file system, then formatting will fix it.
