hey guys im starting to get into music production. can anyone recommend any decent software to use....?
I especially need software to mix my vocals onto mp3 etc...

Any help would be appriciated

protools if your super serious. comes with hardware to run the effects procecces and such, helps your computer run faster.

if your on mac then garageband is simple and effective but with limited professional quility output.

theres one by sony i think but cant remember, used it in high school.

Take a look at Musical Palette - Melody Composing Tool. But purpose of this progam is melody composing. The program has very strong theoretical base. And there is very simple and intuitive inteface.

Propellerhead Reason is one of my favourites when I hook the old keyboard up to the PC for a bash.

It uses a 'virtual rack and cabling' system so you can hook multiple instruments and effects together however you wish.

The real-time sequencer isn't bad either (compared to others I've used like fruity loops) although i've never used it for live recording or laying down of vocals.
