Problems with sony ericsson 550i |

Hi Everyone,
I have a sony ericsson 550i. i've been using for about 8 months. I was changing the SIM today (i do that very often). so i took the baterry and the sim out, placed the new sim and then the baterry. when i tried to turn it on, it only shows a white screen and stays like that; nothing happens. I can't even switch off the power, the only way is to take off the baterry again. I tried cleaning the baterry but still it does not work. Any suggestions?
Thanks. |

Hold the off button down for 10 sec to achieve a regular shutdown. Then check the contacts of the sim and batt. Try your old sim if necessary.

IT's a W550i. I tried it with the old sim or without any sim. Still not working. I tried pressing the power button for 10 seconds to get a regular shut down, but still no response. |

Sounds like the white screen of death (also known as WSOD), it usually means a gremlin in the firmware side, and will mean the phone will need a reflash.
Do a search on 'white screen of death' or 'WSOD' and it should bring up quite a few results on this
