Hello everybody,

Please help me...
Do you know how to disable the Internet button in k610i?
Is it possible to add a new function?

Thanks in advanced,
POL

You can change the start address to where it jumps when the button is pressed (Go to bookmarks, and select a bookmark, press "More" and select "use as startpage). This setting is also available in the options/communication/internet settings/ menu, select your profile, press More and select Advanced, and "change startpage". Instead of a web adderss, you can put in any URL, like "mailto:" which causes the email composer to open if the internet button is pressed, or a link to a file in the phone. This address is slightly different in different phones, for example, on my K800, it's file:///card/other/startpage.html if the file is named startpage.html and located in the "Other" folder on the memory stick. (file:///usb/Other/startpage.html if located in phone memory). On other phone models, you might need to experiment a little to find the correct address, or maybe search the whitepapers or other web resources.
You create the startpage.html file (or whatever you want to call it, the name is not important, it only needs to be the same as you specified in the link) on your PC using standard HTML coding, and you can put in links to your favourite web addresses, or just put in a nice pictuer if you don't want the phone to accidentally connect to internet this way. Having entered the file, the web browser has started, though, and the bookmarks menu is available.

@altemyr - cheers for that - been bugging me ever since I switched to
SE as to how to stop this (especially when I forget to lock the keypad !!)

FYI .... file:///card/ will get a K800i to do absolutely nothing Hit the
internet key, the phone then tries the browser splash page then back to
standby .... Perfect )

You can put in file:///usb/image/girlfriend.gif or whatever you called the picture of your girlfriend, stored in the Pictures folder in the phone. Note that the address is "image" regardless of which phone language you are using, the folder name is "Pictures" in an english speaking phone, "Bilder" in a swedish phone, etc, but the URL is "image". Strange, but true.

@altemyr - if I try your address my k800i tells me

"something is wrong with the page
you tried to access.
choose another link"

e.g.
I copy a picture from a.n.other folder to
memory cardPicturespaxos.jpg
then change the GPRS homepage to "file:///usb/images/paxos.jpg"
it will fail with the above , but "file:///usb/" works !

It's "image", not "images"

doesnt work on k610 branded to three as the button is linked straight to their music service. on my first k610 after an update using seus the button took a few seconds before it would start the browser on the second 1 its immediate... i think i read somewhere that it was erom dependant?

You're right. This is really strange: To access the file picture.gif in the Pictures folder on the memory stick, the address is:

file:///card/image/picture.gif

Oth, if the file is located in the phone memory, the address is:

file:///usb/picture/picture.gif

Notice the non-plural form of the folder names (image/picture)

I'm sorry for this mistake.

Any firmware upgrade will solve this problem as it's very annoying......
BTW,i see some k610 which replace the internet button with an earphones button in the market, so i think should be linked directly to music player LoL...
So by thinking of this fact, it WOULD be possible for k610 users to upgrade to that type of firmware...
Then it will be cool!!

That earphone button doesn't open the phones media player, but a java player (probably streaming music from the internet).

Is it possible to access the k610's internal memory yet? (like tpa/preset/...)
If it is, I know how you can make it open any java app or web link!
(not the normal media player thou.)
