if you go into Messages, Area Info .. there is an option for the "message list"
What is this for and how does this work?

area info. is another type of text message that is sent to all subscribers in a specific network area (network supported).
re: area info code-it is provided by the operator.
example: local no. of a fire department,hospital and or traffic report.

In addition 2 the previous reply, here r some of the codes for those services
Add codes:
050 - 059. One of them will b for the area code ur in, ie 0207 or 0208 for London UK.
Wherever u go in ur country the area no. Will b displayed on ur screen. It only works on o2 & vodafone in the uk. I dont know about other countries. ;-)

i see.. 
further questions (due to curiousity  ), are these txt msgs charged? and is there a site that will have information on all the numbers that are available?
