Well, just got my GD87 on Vodafone Live!, and initallialy I am impressed. the screen is fantastic!! pity about only one resolution with the camera! The Poly Tones are real nice, I downloaded some today from a wap site! I has 1mg of memory!! or up to 1000files (which ever comes first) It's a nices size (about the size of and 8850/8210 when closed!) It has a pictures phone book, but the pics are real small when the person calls.
THere is no answer on open flip, but that is minor.
So, that's that. I'm usually in the habbit of getting fones every couples of months, but i have a years contract with this one, then again i have had the 8890 now for about 6 months, great fone!
so, post here and let me know you views!
also, can anyone tell me any information about terminating contracts?? what happens etc..
thanks,

Yeahh
I also bought a Gd 87. Are you from Germany? This phone is great but you can store 20 SMS. But the screen is the best i have ever seen.
It hasn't got Bt and the most other things like the T68i (best phone, the legend of SE), but for taking photos and sending MMs it is fantastic.
Bevor Christmas they would bring a SW update which allows you recording small videos. It's genial.

Is the software upgrade available yet, the one that will let you record video clips ?!!
Will it be an international release so to say?? |

I have not heard of this upgrade, but i can not see them offering an upgrade which allows you to record video file, when you can not yet send them accross the network (to my knowledge), I hope they do, I also hope that they allow you to see the name of the person when you recieve an MMS message (that is if they are stored in your phonebook)
If you hear anymore, keep me informed,
Thanks ,

I agree with you for the second part of your post. This is a must for GD87 and I am sure that in the upcoming firmware upgrade this function will be included |

I thought the name did come up? I think I read that it shows the name if the details are stored in the phones memory and not the sim card memory. (might be wrong) |

No and I know it for sure. When you revieve an mms message or a confirmation when you sent an mms message, the phone displays only the phone number of the contact, not the name of it. I have all my numbers stored in phone memory. |

This is important to current gd87 owners:
Our exciting gd87 can easily play & recogise imy files!!! A friend of mine yesterday send an mms and among others he send also an imelody. Gd87 played normally the sound like a midi with one channel and there was also an option to save it as file. Then you can save the sound to a folder and use it as a regular sound..... I tested myself by sending to gd87 from my pc imy files and worked like a charm...Really good, don't you agree? |
