Hi All,

I'm having problems to connect my notebook to the Internet. My phone connects to the PC Suite for Smartphones via Bluetooth or USB without problems. But when I start the "Mobile Networking Wizard" it does not detect my phone (status bar keeps showing "Detecting phone...").

The same happens on my desktop computer, so could this be a phone issue? I can browse the internet on the phone via opera and I am using the latest version of the Smartphone Suite on XP SP2.

The phone is listed as a modem in the "Phone and Modems" option in the Control Panel, but its Properties button is greyed out (perhaps it isn't connected?).

Is there a manual way to set up the phone for internet access?

Thank you very much for any help or suggestions.

Yes, add a dial-up network connection using the P990i modem you have installed with username/password blank and the phone number set to *99#.

If you need to select a specific Internet account on your P990i rather than use the default one, you can dial *99***4# for example to use the 4th Internet account on your phone. If you get the diagnostics output from the P990i modem using the Phones and Modems control panel in Windows XP/Vista, it will give you a list of what Internet account each number corresponds to.

Same thing applies to all UIQ2 and UIQ3 phones.

Great bit of info rpy - I must try this when I get home! I've had no luck getting my Sony DCRPC120E camcorder to communicate with my P990i as a modem. I emailed Sony Ericsson who replied with "you may not be able to use the phone like this" !!!!!
