do you think it would be possible for SE to upgrade the memory using a software upgrade or memory stick/card accessory, which would enable the t68i to play movies (small ones at first).
maybe movie's could be downloaded from the internet via the ir cable or bluetooth adptr.
I know it's not impossible, they could use the same principal as the SE MP3 player but with a different file format.

Erm.... playing an MP3 and displaying a worth while piece of footage on the display are in two completely different ball games mate!
Look at the animated screen savers and their low frame rate. Alos notice how long it takes the phone to start up your screen saver if its 20k or over!!
Not gonna happen, why try and keep and phone like the t68 around when technology is advancing so fast just wait a while and this feature will apear in a better phone |

mmm both valid points but like the guy ses wat ifvit was thru an accessory that did all the processing and mem storage and the phone was used simply as viewer then itd wrk a treat

The only way it's possible, is if you upgrade the interior hd of the phone to, say, 1 gigabyte or maybe 1 terrabyte. Now all you have to do is rip movies (perferably cartoons) frame by frame into gif's and combine them into one large gif file. A gif file that wil take forever to upload to the phone's hd, it will have no sound whatsoever, and it will be a pest to view with the slow  gif-viewer.

I'm sure the upgrade would include more colours to the pallete(or you wolud have to send your phone to an SE centre)
I'm sure they could also include more file formats and use a compression technique?????????

You're right... they could replace the internals of the phone, add loads of memory, a bigger screen with more colour and a better speaker.
They should do it and call it the P800 or something |

So in that case conect whotever to use the phone as monitor.

even if you could get some kind of accessory, which held the movie data (maybe including the audio-stream and a sound-output) there are 3 things to why it aint gonna happen:
1) Price. The price would be quite high - and who would pay more than a regular smal handheld colour tv?`
2) 256 colours. If you own a MCA-20 you would have noticed the extreeme difference between viewing the picture on the t68i or on a device with 65000+ colours. The quality would be awful.
3) The hardware. The phone's CPU would never be able to handle the storage-ram-cpu switching in an acceptable pace to name just one. |

in case some people failed to notice I said they should start of small, cartoons maybe.
all they would have to do is make them as 4 - 6 min screensavers.
Now I know that's possible.
in fact Anyone who can make screensavers can do it.
