Hi, I don't really know what to choose: Sony Ericsson W850 and Nokia 6233.
I want this phone to last as least 2 years (like my K700i, but I already had a joystick change )
The W850 is more expensive but has a lot of extra features compared to the 6233.
6233 comes with a 64 mb card, right? I would buy an 1GB card for it, since it's well in the price difference between the W850 and 6233.
W850 has a jack adapter and 6233 doesn't. It's a must for me, since I want to take the phone anywhere with me, I want it my musicplayer. Can I get such an adapter for Nokias? I want it to take good pictures too (not very good, and not bad either ), that's why I'm for the 2mpx camera phone.
Music... the W850 is a walkman phone, it has better music handling cababilities, but I like the stereo sound of the 6233's loudspeaker... so nice, such a clean output even at max volume level.
Camera... both have the same camera, a 2mpx, but wich one is better? W810 has a 2mpx camera too, but I heard it takes so much better pics than the W850.
Screen... they all have nice QVGA screens (a must feature for my next phone). But I heard the 6233's is better, and it's easy to read even under the sun.
Battery lifetime? Is the 6233 come in as a winner in this category?
Speed? I heard the S40's speed is greater than the current SE OS's.
Bluetooth... is there no way to control your PC from the 6233 via bluetooth like you can with a SE?
Java. Is java support worse in the 6233 than in the W850? I heard the W850 supports java 3d with a good performance, and supports multitasking, even java apps, and I don't think I know about any limitations referred to java when talking about the W850. But I heard the 6233 has some limitations (file no bigger than 1 mb, and memory heap size no bigger than 2 mb). Oh, and is multitasking with java apps not so good in the 6233? Wich phone has the better multitasking?
Construcion... I think the 6233 wins hands off... I had hold it in my hands, it's perfect, well ballanced, it looks very durable, keys are perfect (I mean PERFECT!!! best keys I ever used). When the W850 is a slider phone, a greater risk of breaking, has a somewhat strange keyusage, and yesterday I was shocked... THE D-PAD IT CRAPS, A FAULTY DESIGN, THE TROUBLE AND HUSSLE OF THE K SERIES JOYSTICK RETURNING? OMG
I can get a W850 for 311 euros, and a 6233 for about 216 euros, but then I have to buy a 1 GB microSD card for the Nokia, I don't have a camera flash (well, it doesn't really help much only on closeups in dark places...), and can I get a jack adapter for the Nokia like the one wich comes with current Walkman phones... and does the 6233 really have all these java limitations and no multitasking for them?
Help me decide

i am for the 6233, cos it has got edge and umts, nice screen ( fullscreen browser lack is a problem for me ), great keypad and joypad, poweful battery ( very important for me ). w850 is ugly imo, next to it i am a slider fan.

Sounds to me that you woyld preferre to get a 6630. I would agree as all the advantages you listed are true. My cousin has the w850 and it is a good phone and the camera is very good, the pictures look good on the screen. I also think the w850 looks better then the 6233. But its not about looks. I personally would get the 6233 as its cheaper and is not really worse than the w850.

I found this review here on the board: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/k800vs6233-en.shtml
It has so much drawbacks on the software site... I want good multitasking support and seamless musicplaying capabilities (like the one offered in walkman phones, and it looks like in the K800 too )
I think I only like the 6233 on the exterior from now on... it seems features and software are very important to me
I like the W850, but wish it had the K750's camera, and the W810's d-pad...

mobile review isnt the best for tests imo, nop offence, but they test very often the fones with proto fws or early versions and the mentioned bugs are fixed hen the fones are launched later.

At least we have an Orange Shop in our town, so I can test them whenever I want
One of my friend's dad has a 6233 (I hope he didn't sent it back to repair, he had some problem with the handsfree and the charger, they didn't make contact with the phone everytime...). But I can find both phones in the shop, so i can test them, and I will
Actually number one priority is music and 3rd party apps, internet, and the K800-like software on the W850 and having an audio jack adapter... is a winner for me.
My favourite was the W710 till now, but it has a small screen (yes, it was huge 2 years ago, but now QVGA is a must I think, since I want my phone to last, and can't fall behind technology too much either... besides it's good to have a QVGA screen if I'm taking mpx pictures with it sometimes ). But the W850 software and UI is simply great. Anyway... I don't need a speedometer that much...
If I bought the W850 I would probalbly use every function (DAMN, the bluetooth HID control... I love it, I control my music player here in Linux with it, and will write more profiles for it as I have time ), maybe except the Videocall... well, I'll probalby use that too, but not very frequent...
I like the case of the 6233, it would be perfect for me... if only I could put the interiors of the W850 inside the 6233, hihi
And software update for W850 just got easier... cool... love it.
1st I had to choose from Nokia 5300, 6233, Sony Ericsson W710 and W850... but I always return to the W850

I have both 6233 & w850. But i prefers my w850. Why??? Because the ui is so simple n fun to use. Also the themes n menu more colorful

About d-pad design, first time used it feels like pressing a sardine can! But after u get used, it feels good!

imo one of the biggest lack in w850 is edge. when u browse the net and no umts in some areas, u can continue it easily almost with the same speed on edge

The W850 has more features compared to the 6233 as well.

The W850 has:
Camera flash.
1GB memory stick included.
Better music features (including headphones).
Video calling.
Funkier design.
Multi-tasking.

Overall the W850 is a better phone. The 6233 is more like the K610.

You need definately to get a W850 if you're using it as your music device, sound is great and the music recognition is awsome.
As far as I am concerned, without using UMTS, battery lasts about 5 days with 1h30 talk time and some gaming.
As for the d-pad you will get used to it at the end of Day1.

Nokias dont have very good non-smartphones. They might be good, but SE is far better in that area. Plus you get the bigger and better screen with awsome music play

6233 screen is big enough imo and next to it the 6230i is still a hit for example. 6233 should have been its succesor, but its not that popular. weird thing os the video call solution, cos u have to turn the fone to be seen by the caller
