I'm waiting for R2b for 2 reasons! Faster SMS and photo album! MMS is going to prove useless for months to come unless operators start supposting the feature at reasonable prices. MMS will have little value initially as only few consumers will have its ability!

MMS will prove to be an expensive business as a communicam is a likely essential companion for the application and expensive service usage!

I feel that T9 on T68 is below satisfactory! If R2b T9 speeds do not compare with nokia or motorola speeds, i may change manufacturers! We have paid good money for a quality multimedia phone that is way too slow for simple applications!

Dont you feel that T9 speed should be prioritised over MMS? We need T9 to be fast and preferably with MMS

I agree! I feel that faster T9 should be a very high priority for the folks at SonyEricsson. It doesn't make a good cake when you have the best frosting but the cake itself lacks...

By the way, I had a motorola P7382 wap phone that also suffered from very slow text entry.

I have a motorola v66.... It may not have the best screen, but sms is very fast using motoroal's T9 equivalent, iTap! It is so fast and easy to use that you wish your T68 came even CLOSE to it! V66 is a great phone but not in terms of data connectivity or sound quality!

Slow text entry isn't the largest problem for me though. I feel that the most important feature on a phone (calling someone) is below satisfaction cuz browsing the phone book takes forever.

Sure, they probably chose this slow CPU to save energy, but still. They have underestimated the importance of I/O speed.

Maybe the next phones adapt the better system Sony use.

"The phone (SonyEricsson C1002S) is equipped with a text input method similar to the T9. Sony calls this system for POBox. It will bring up a selection of possible words after the user type in the first few characters of a word, allowing sentences to be written with minimum key operation. The system can also learn frequently typed words, making for smoother text input, while a similar function is also available for modern words. Typing 'Sta', for example, will produce options such as 'Starbucks'"
