Combining K750 + W700 + W800 parts |

Hi guys, I have a K750i and I plan to do the following; change the front and back to W800i housing and change the centre piece to the W700i centre. I'm also gonna use the W700i keypad. I have a few questions:
1) Is the W700i centre part same as the K750i centre part? I think its the same, but I'm not sure.
2) If the centre part is not the same, what are the mods to be done?
3) Do you guys have any real life pics of the k750i next to the W700i? I want to see if the silver part in the middle are exactly the same colour.
4) Do you foresee any incompatibilities?
I plan to make a totally white phone(w800i white), with the orange bits coming only from the joystick, W logo at the front bottom, WALKMAN written on the left side and the orange around the camera ring at the back. What do you guys think? Any pics of this phone by someone who has already done this?
Or can anyone just do a quick Photoshop?

that is almost what you want 
and the middle part of the w700i, w800i and k750 are the same, except for the colours. so basically you can do whatever you want by combining them.

let me answer here, so everyone else can see it:
you can combine the parts of k750, w800, and w700 without any modification. the only thing which annot be done seperately is the faceplate and the keypadm these must be changed together!
so answering to you question, yes, you can put the w700i middle part on your w800 without any modification. if you have any other question, don't hezitate to ask! |

Ok, thanks for that answer. Have another one. Are the keypads for the W800 and W700 exactly the same? Or is the colour slightly different? Are they interchageable?
Also is the front top white/grey part of the W800 and D750 the same? Or are they different shades of grey? If i'm not mistaken, they are the same right?

to the first picture: d750 and w700 has different coloured plexi-s, but otherwise they match, so you can exchange them, so as the buttons.
it is not so hard to get the ring around the camera off, but watch out, be gently, because you can break it easely!
if you're done with modding, please post pictures!!

So, I'm guessing the plexi on the d750 has a blueish tinge while the w800 one is pure white?
Also, any idea where I can just get the D750 black ring?
Will post pics of the mod when I'm done, but first I gotta start finding sources for the parts I need. I looking at http://cnn.cn/ , they have the W800 front and back, but I can't find anywhere that has the black d750 cam ring... I'm searching around in some forums too... Any ideas?

well i got my parts from a local SE store, so i can't really give you any advice about that. try to get it from ebay maybe! where are you from anyway?

I'm from Malaysia. They don't have the D750 here. If I go the the SE service centre, they would have the W800 parts but not the D750 parts. No T-Mobile here, all the D750s sold here are grey imports and are not covered by SE warranty. I wish I knew some place that has the black cam ring...
I was reading begalboy's review of the w800, he says that opening the lense on the w800 does not activate the camera... That can't be right can it? As far as I know the w800 has active lense too...
Well, I can't wait to find all the needed parts to do the mod, I've already played around with the firmware using FAR, and now I'm itching to externally mod my k750 looks...

well, the w800 and w700 and the d750 basically have the same housing, except for the colour, and they all have active camera lens.
let me ask my buddy at SE store, might be able to get you a d750 ring if you can't find it anywhere else! |

Really really apreciate it. I'm hunting for it but I doubt I'll manage to buy one here in Malaysia.
