Bluetooth Internet on W710i |

I recently discovered that I can access the Internet on my W710i using my computers broadband connection by setting my Internet profile as my bluetooth computer.
I'm having some problems and I wanted to know if anyone else has used this feature, I think it is available on the newer sonyericsson phones (w850i,k800i...). My phone connects to the Internet perfectly but when I disconnect my phone I can't reconnect it again, the computer says it has connected to the Network access service but nothing loads on the phone.
The only way i can get the phone to connect to the Internet is by resetting my router. This fixes the problem except its quite annoying having to turn the router off and on each time i want to access the Internet, does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how i can fix it?
I've noticed on my routers DHCP client list an ip appears when i connect my phone to the computer as "(null) - 192.168.2.3". Normally when i disconnect a device from the router the name disappears from the client list, when i disconnect my phone from the computer the device (null) remains in the client list. Maybe this has something to do with it. |

I've done that once, but in another way. Actually I didn't set my Internet profiles to use bluetooth or etc... but I connected the phone with SDK framework which makes the Java apps on my phone use bluetooth as internet connection. I'm sure you know that, but actually how did u set the Internet profile to use bluetooth? (if it's another way different that one I used) . Tell me if you can, I'll test it for you to see if I can recconect again or not.

On my W710i if I go to 'Internet Settings' then 'Internet profiles' select 'new profile' and then click on 'connect using' it lists the different access points one of these access points is my bluetooth computer:
Then on my computer if i right click the bluetooth icon in the notification area and select 'advanced configuration' click on 'local services' and click on 'network access' and click properties then select allow other devices to access internet:
And the final step is to bridge the Local area network connection with the bluetooth connection in the network connections menu:
I know it seems a little difficult but it was really easy and i didn't have to install anything.

Well my w800 doesn't list any connection from my computer . I guess it does not support bluetooth internet profiles, but I don't get it how it worked with the Java apps. and not with this one?

if it helps anyone, I was able to make this work with my k800i.
It took my forever to get my broadcom software to work, you have to disable MS's built in BT software. I had to upgrade to Widcomm version 5.0.1.1100. From there is was cake, did just like mentioned above.
I may find practicality from this too, as it has a ok range, i can use my phone to browse the net from my dining room/kitchen, and bathroom, may be able to make it all the way to the couch, LOL
Anyways, very fast connection, and very neat to see how far technology can go to be able to reverse the connection this way. |
