With the 4Q06 results expected soon, it looks like may have increased market share yet again after a blistering performance from its K800i Cyber-shot and W850i Walkman handsets.
The flagship UK market seen Sony Ericsson hold on to the best-seller top spot for the most of the final quarter of 2006 - with the K800i being the winning phone, the newly launched W850i hitting the ground running and the popular W810i still holding on to a top ten spot - thanks to the popularity of its Cyber-shot camera-phones and Walkman music-phones.
Motorola - the traditional No2 in the UK witnessed a less than sparkling performance from its latest KRZR which failed to break into the top 5 best sellers and Nokia's N73 also failed to make an expected huge impact in the UK contract market.
SE's Q4 2006 financial results will be announced on
17th January at 7.30 am GMT
A media and analyst conference call will follow at 8.00 am.

I will be awaiting the results, but I doubt SE will break into third spot.
It's slow but steady for SE.

@Shaliron- I agree with you. I think SE has closed in on Samsung but not enough to make it number 3. With the way things look SE may take the number three spot by year end. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Q4 2006 results.

I think there is a very good chance the could take the UK this time around. I have been tracking the sales on the Mobile Today site regularly.
Motorola has only had 2 handsets in the contract top 20 sellers all quarter - with the V3i and its KRZR and hasn't been doing too well in Western Europe in general.

nah, i think sales of nokia and samsung are higher due to more models
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

What about the Moto Razr. It is a big hit with the common folks here in the US.

Well I know that SE is trying to be in the top three globally within five years.

@Shaliron
has said previously that it will never make a handset that will be priced as cheaply as some that Nokia and Motorola make and because of this I think it will always be outsold in emerging markets like India and Africa. In Europe it has concentrated on being more high-end than its competitors and I think this strategy will be adhered to.
If it can hold its own in flagship markets - or mature markets for that matter - and still make a profit then why should they be concerned.
