Z520, White screen, need help.

Strangely as i was trying to use it last night, as i closed the flip it happened on the outside screen but eventually stopped doing it. I was just wondering if this is possibly a software fault and if i tried to do a software update with sony ericsson would it possibly cure the faults? What do you guys think?
