Sorry for being dumb here guys, but..
Is there any software that I can add or change contacts details through my PC rather than manually typing into my phone? If there is, where can I get it from? Do I need anything else like a data cable? If so which one and where do I get it from? Is it simple to do?

Cheers

Yes there is software out there which can handle your requests

"Ericsson Phone Book & Text Message Manager" can handle your contacts and sms messages.

"Ericsson Phone Settings" can handle your phone settings.

As you say yourself you need somehow to connect the phone to your PC. This can be done i several ways:

1. Data cable
2. InfraRed (IR)
3. Bluetooth

If you buy MA-600 Infrared adapter there is a cd inside for doing all these.

How about maintaining contact details in Oulook/Notes/Other PIM and using XTNDConnect to synchronise? Free Outlook version available from sonyericssonmobile website.
