After spending 2 hours on the phone to carphone warehouse data support, here is the info I was looking for. It's still a bit unclear what the distinction is between the different settings.
Internet - (02 WAP GPRS)
address: wap.o2.co.uk
username: o2wap
password: password
Proxy : 193.113.200.195
port : 8080
Email - (o2 mobile web)
address : mobile.o2.co.uk
username : o2web
password : password
proxy : 193.113.200.195
port : 8080
This includes access to an smpt server smtp.o2.co.uk, I didn't check if it allows access to internet as well, but the wap connection above did not give me access to any email servers.
Dial-up (to use my inclusive minutes, or if gprs is not availible)
number : +44 7712927927
user : o2wap
pass : password
The later was difficult, it seems that the latest 3G sim cards are by default not enabled for CSD or GSM data calls. (but my old sim was, so I could prove I had the connections right) I had to be fairly explicit with support to guide them to enabling this for me, but it didn't seem to be a problem. |

Hi,
Have you now managed to use the standard WAP settings to access your email accounts, or do you still have to use the MOBIILE settings to do so.
The reason why I ask is that I cannot access my emails via the WAP, and found your post and entered the MOBILE settings and now it works.
So thanks for that.
Regards
Sarge
