I have problems with some special characters that are Turkish like þ,ý,ç,ð (if you can't view them-> s,c and g with dots and i without a dot). I write only 30 characters and if I write one of these special letters, It says that the message is too long and shows "-1" at the top-left corner . My Software version is R2A014. Do you think that I should upgrade it? My nokia 3310 & 8310 had the same problems but it was solved with a software upgrade... Thx in advance...

Two of these charachters are special Icelandic... I always tought they were only used in the Icelandic language and not in the Turkish one.

The Ð, ð and the Þ, þ are letters only supported by the Unicode UTF8 charachter table. A regular SMS is 160 charachters when written in 8bit form, but if you add one of these charachters the SMS will be transformed to 16bit of 80 characthers in length.

Go to Messages > SMS > Options and activate Long Messages.

You will send a few more messages than before, but your language will be intact. Just be warned: Sending a Unicode SMS to old phones like 3310 the message cannot be displayed on phones that don't have Unicode support.
