Hey Guy´s
Don´t worry about the new phones from Nokia, I just tried Nokia 6100,6610,3510i,3650 and 6800, and I think that they all suck, they are all Nokia 7210 with another design and, 3650 is just a cheap model off 7650.

People always say "Nokia phones are crap", but on what basis?
"Phone racists" won't have their minds changed, but MOST people will look for the phone that provides the features they want.
Nokia phones don't need to be better than to take some of the market share... needs to bring out improved phones more quickly, both for the publicity and to retain existing customers when other manufacturers bring out new models.
By having a greater number of phones in their range they will attract more customers (perhaps just a few from each segment of the market), taking revenue from other manufacturers. |

@bingo
"Phone racists"...
Nice new word there. Covers it well I think.

"they are all Nokia 7210 with another design"...
That is Nokia in a nut shell, grab an old phone, put a new cover on it and, "swish" a "new" phone is born.
But that is how they make money! No delelopment cost, just a new look, instant sucsess. People know the menues from before and don't need to even open up the manual.
need to do the same to reach the top, but I don't think they will release a brand new "old" phone. There is allways going to fe some new features in it. Like the GH series: GH688 fist, no IR. GH888 next, same phone, same menu, same battery but with IR. See my point?

Don't get me wrong... I love my T68i more than I ever thought I would (nothing dodgy going on though, honest!)
I don't want to churn out loads of phones just for the sake of it, but that might be the only answer to avoid dying out.
It's not enough to produce a couple of good/great phones for a niche market, they cant live on those profits! Mass market (which, I think, is what all the Nokia-haters despise) can provide the "bread and butter" money to support development of better features. |

@bingo. I think the problem is that there are so many young jobbos out there who tend to buy only what their mates buy. They don't really care about quality and features, they only look at what everyone else are buying and have on mind of their own. The Go With The Flow Generation are dominant.

What sony ericsson should do is what nokia have been doing since the 5100 series. Keep the same menu system ( i was a devout nokia user before i had sony ericsson, and the t68 menu system is by far the best of any phone, it beats the nokia system hands down) and keep all of the features of the t68, but upgrade the screen and bed new features.

I agree. I was a Nokia user til the 68i and (once I got used to it) the menu system is much easier. |

Analysts at Forrester haid said that they anticipate Nokias share to fall from 36% to 30% due to the fact that they are the only manufacturer that has refused to sign an exclusive agreement with a network provider (for example the exclusive agreement Sharp has with Vodafone to manufacture the GX-10 to Vodafone's specification). I think SE may have an agreement with Orange? |

On phones bra crap. You simply get what you pay for thats all. I for one am getting the 6800 as it looks now, my only gripe is the lack of Bluetooth. The add-on camera is way cool though.

Ne1 knows how much the NOKIA N-Gage is going 2 cost? It has bluetooth ! I have waited far too long for the t300, might as wall wait till Feb for the Nokia. Worst part is i live in Malaysia and there is no t300 in sight..... Damn them 4 being soo slow. And yet they wonder why they are not gaining market share... Duh.
