incoming call icon shows from cellphone with small sim card |

some of the calls that i receive on my phone, even if it is not from a cellphone, it shows me its from the person's cellphone and a small simcard icon next to the cellphone icon.. i dont understand what this symbol is about. |

this means that the number is saved on your sim card not your phone.

copy the contact from simcard to phone and it should be alright

just to check if that was the problem, i deleted all the contacts from my simcard before i posted this querry. but not only does it show the simcard icon, it also shows that the call is from a cellphone even though its not..
im so confused

does this happen with numbers from your stored contacts? Try to do a backup on your PC, then delete all contacts on phone and SIM card. See if you still get the sim card icon. Restore the backup. If it doesn't help, contact your service provider.

yeah i did try to delete my contacts from the sim and phone. but same problem.
another way to test this is i had stored my residence contact with no other numbers with it under the residence category and called from home a few times, mostly it showed me the correct icon but sometimes it shows me as its from a cellphone along with a simcard icon next to it. i think its just software upgrade required but im surprised how come no one has noticed this.. |
