When I change the SIM card in my phone (K750i, by the way), and when I turn it back on, it rolls time back to 01:00 and the date to the 1st January 2000. Is this normal to happen, or there's a problem with the phone firmware or whatever? This wasn't the case on my old K300i, I could easily insert other SIM card, even of a different carrier and time and date would stay unchanged. Just to note that I'm using an unlocked phone, the software version is R1CA021, if that will help...

@a6 -I think this is NORMAL mate . . . Everytime the battery is removed, then placed back again . . . the clock and date - resets (K750i)!

Yeah but one year ago when I had K300i that wasn't the case, and there are people outta there who also own K750i who also don't have this problem... Why is mine then messed up?

@a6 - OK, let's just keep this thread rolling for a while and see what OTHER responses you'll be getting . . . I rarely change simcards, as ONE is assigned to one phone . . . and if ever a firmware upgrade will do the problem here . . . I might just take it as it IS and just adjust the TIME everytime the battery will be removed . . . [addsig]

@tranced - I am really confused now pal . . . as I've said, I rarely change sims nor removed the batt in that manner . . . Yes, perhaps it's ONLY the TIME and not the DATE . . .

@a6 - In your case if it RESETs both: Time and Date (when simcard is replaced) . . . something is wrong perhaps .. . let's just keep the replies rolling here . . . [addsig]

Doesn't happen on my k750. But i'd say whenever you remove the battery, there's a chance the date and time settings would reset. Used to happen on my Nokia. I guess the internal battery (I'm guessing there's one) or capacitor can only hold a charge for so long. Also, my old 6510 used to be able to retain the time settings when i switched simcards, but as it got older, it would reset. So I'm guessing it's hardware rather than firmware.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

That is kinda a backwards revolution. On my P900 and Z600, the time stays the same after I take the battery out and put it back in.

Hi all,
I have never come across this before i can only think possibly it is as mentioned earlier something to do with an internal battery dieing. I regularly swap Sims and have never had this happen it sounds like a real pain having said all of this i don't think i ever have a phone long enough to experience this due to it's age. Is the date it reverts to about right for the year of being made?

Now here's something interesting: when I set the Daylight Saving to Daylight Savings (not the Standard Time thing) and then change SIM cards, it still rolls back date and time, but after about 10-15 seconds, it offers me to accept an update and I get the time&date back and everything is fine. I guess that's something to do with software, because it was set to Standard Time before I changed it to Daylight Savings... Who would know...
