I saw this Wireless FM Transmitter+ audio jack adapter on ebay for £7.50 deliverd.

But should I get the ebay item or should I just get the official Sony Ericsson MMR-60 FM Transmitter?

well, myself i'd go for the official one as I know that it will definately work with my phone. The one on ebay requires a cable and a larger box thing, and also requires 2xAAA batteries to run, whereas the SE one clips straight onto phone and runs off the phone's battery. Also: the SE one'll probably last longer due to build-quality.

I haven't taken into account whether it will work or not though. The SE one definately will, but the one on ebay may not. If you want to spend £10-ish then go for the ebay one, spend three-ish times more (£33-ish) then go for the MMR-60 SE adapter, just it only works with SE phones and I think you may be able to hook the ebay one up to anything that has a 3.5mm adapter aswell as SE phones, kinda cool - eh?

So...make your decision, if your going to use in car then the ebay one'll probably be fine - or for just leaving at home to amlify through stereo etc. and your not going to carry the phone around in your pocket as if you were going to carry it around then i'd probably go for the sony ericsson one.

Good luck, and have fun...and Welcome to esato!

I would not buy the Sony MMR-60. I found its signal to be so weak it was useless. I had to wrap the FM antenna around the MMR-60 to get even a very sensitive receiver to pick up the MMR-60. Even then, the music was noisy. My car radio would not pick up the MMR-60 at all.

I bought a cheap Belkin FM transmitter that works fine by plugging it into the Sony headset adapter. That's not as elegant a solution as the MMR-60 might have been, but at least it works.

Same thing here: MMR-60 signal is very very weak. I definitively wouldn't recommend it.
