Hi all,
Got a 3g K800i which was debranded using wotan server. has been working fine for about 4 months. Today I switched the phone off to get the number from the back of the sim for the 3g music store. Put the battery back in and tried switching it on, but no response at all. Tried another battery, no response. Tried plugging in to pc via supplied usb cable, no response. Removed battery for 30 minutes, plugged back in, no response.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The phone was purchased from phones for u, but im guessing as it was debranded, there's no warranty now? Is that right? Any ideas? Please help!!! |

It is a common problem. I have had the same problem and had to take it to be replaced. Flashing using wotan might do it but am not sure. By debranding it you have voided the warrenty.

Good point. Looks like you will have to pay to get it repaired.

The last place to take it is to Phones4U. I would suggest phoning Sony Ericsson UK and getting them to sort it. Supply a proof of purchase as they might not notice you have debranded it and do it under warrenty, but dont count on it. |

ok some progress. Wotan is picking up the phone as in it says phone detected, but seems to crash after that. |

Hi all,
I would say takeing it to a SE service centre would be your best bet also i don't see how they could tell you debranded it as if it won't turn on that just doesn't seem possible. They will obviously re flash it but it will be back to the branded version of software according to the CDA and IMEI numbers unless of course it is dead and not able to be saved in which case you may end up with either a new or refurb unit.

Cool, ive emailed SE.
Tried using the SE update program, but it says phone detection failed. Seems to recognise a phone is plugged in when connecting it though |

Send it back to Phones4U.
I took an updated S700i back there after it wouldn't switch on and they didn't ask for the warranty as they had the purchase date/info on their database, so they will probably repair it for you under their own guarantee.
Give it a try
