K750i Problems |

I have a K750i, unbranded version which has had an O2 UK sim card in it. When I had this sim card in the phone I could turn it on and it would find the network very quickly, however I have recently change the sim for a Virgin Mobile UK sim and when I turn the phone on it takes a good 2-4 minutes for it to find the Virgin UK network and allow me to use the phone. When roaming in France with the Virgin Sim I had the same problem. Can anyone suggest a fix, as I do not think I should be waiting upto 4 minutes or so before I can use the phone.
Thanks

There is a communication setting in each phone. This setting is a list, that lists service providers. So the one on number 1 is looked for first, then the phone goes down the list. I do not know if your phone has an accessible settings list. But if it does you could add Virgin Mobile to it/or move it up the list. That might help.

virgin uses the t-mobile network just incase you cant find virgin in the operator search |

Hi, gaming guy is right with the T-mobile thing, have you checked coverage in your area? Also have you checked if your network scan settings are set to auto and not manual?

Network coverage is fine in my area as I also have a SonyEricsson K610i on Virgin, and when I turn that on it finds the network straight away. I'm wondering whether the change in sim from an 900mhz network sim, to a 1800mhz network sim card has confised the phone, and therefore it is taking longer to find the network?
Thanks

try putting the virgin sim from the k610 in the k750 and the k750 sim in the k610, to see if the sim or the phone is causing the problem |

My money is on what Resident evil said, It is probably to do with what is top of the network list. If anything your 1800mhz sim should be quicker as its newer technology and carries twice the bandwidth compared to 900mhz.
