Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone knows how it would be possible to password protect the inbox of my text messages, on my K800i. I know it is possible on other phones and I think it is a good feature. Cant find the option on my K800i though.

Hi, I have had 4 Sony Ericsson phones and none have had locks. This seems to be available on most Samsungs if that helps? But why would you want a Samsung? (Yukkkk)
You could be clever and design a lockable clamp (like on car wheels) that sits over your keypad? That would work and might earn you lots of ..... money??? Doh!
Sry off to patent it! Bye.

There shouldn't just be a lock for the SMS Inbox. There needs to be something more sophisticated than the keypad Lock feature.

My previous phone, Nokia 6680, had a phone lock feature, so no-one could access any of the features. I thought that all 3G phones would have that as standard.

But as mentioned, the K800i doesn't.

no java application has worked as expected so far. if we want a with a lock, we'll have to hope for to release one. but let's not keep our hopes too high, 'cause hasn't announced any so far.

I think should add that function in future models so you can choose to use it if you want.

Nah, that's not what firmware updates are intended to do. Firmware updates are intended to fix bugs in existing functionality, and in rare case add functionality that was not there from start but was intended to be there, but was not included for technical reasons, as it was with the MMS function in T68.
If you want new functionality, you'll have to wait for the upgraded version of the model, normally a model with 10 added to the model number, like in W800 -> W810. Will there be a K810 perhaps?
