i am almost positive that it can not... since it you actually need a software to decode mp3 files to play them, i mean its the same if you record a cd full of unextracted mp3 files and try playing it in your car or hifi system, it does not work (unless your car system supports mp3palyaback) so there is no way... additionally how would you connect it, it does not have an audio jack, its just se specific outlet... so no way...

I'm pretty sure you mean you want to plug using the headphone socket into your linein on your hi-fi.

This can be done by purchasing a special connector to fit the headphone socket. There has been a post about this before, so try a search, I think its a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter you will need.

Just to clarify. MDS I am afraid you are totally wrong and Jamo has it spot on. The output from you MP3 player headphone socket is a stereo output that will give you almost CD quality into your hifi.
You need a lead from a hifi shop or similar that is small jack to phono plugs. Plug the phono plugs a spare channel in the back of your amplifier i.e aux or phono and away you go.
Incidentally I made one of these leads up to plug into the output of my soundcard and I have run it under the carpet and into the back of my amplifier and run all my music (4000+ mp3s) through my pc. The sound is perfect and I never even use my cd player anymore.
