I asked se and the guy said although it is possible to have java or mophun on t68i since they have the same platform with t300 it is not planned!

It seems the Java Virtual Machine (KVM) is too "heavy" to be included in the firmware due to memory/speed constraints, but i've been told the Mophun Run Time Engine is very light and small... so I think it shouldn't be difficult to integrate into the T68i's firmware.
Note also that T68 and T300 have a very similar hardware configuration, so 's engineers DO HAVE the "know-how" about doing it...
Dreaming is free, but perhaps someday SonyEricsson could bring a very big surprise for the T68's owners...

i don't think they will do anything that nice... it is not smart profitwise for them... all the incremental costs they will have to pick up in order to create a new sw bundle... not in this life... but i am sure 68's successor will have it installed, if not that would be plain dumb from se's standpoint.... 0.02

What a shame though, how nice would that be if we could get mophun on the T68's. They are the same hardware the T300 and t68, it would be really cool of SE to do that. Well you never know to keep the loyalist SE fans happy they might just do that, sonsidering how long it will be before we have a true T68 replacment. They might do it just to keep us happy till then. |

It is possible to have mophun on the T68, I've seen it. It was before the release of T300, and done in order to test mophun games on "real" hardware. Probably this was done by SE themselfs and provided to selected developers.

Yep, there are some T68 test devices with Mophun on them. But, they are only for testing, no official release is planned. I don't think there will ever be any Mophun/Java upgrade for T68. SE needs to start making more money, and the only way they can make more money is by selling NEW devices, not by upgrading old ones.

Well I agree that there will probably not be a Mophun update for the T68, becasue SE needs to sell new phones to make money.
HW wise I don't think there is any problems implementing Mophun on the T68. Maybe SE could release a software upgrade with Mophun that people could pay for, if they wanted Mophun. That would be one way to generate some money... just a thought |

Not a bad idea but the handling (how to get the money to SE from all over the world) from the money will probably costs so much that a upgrade would not be interesting. |
