Hi im goin to live in Dubai soon and was wondering how advanced there phones are there, and how cheap are phones there, if you could post me any details relavant to this it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I live in Sharjah (right next to Dubai - can even see it from my flat!). U get the most modern phones out here. Hee are some sites so u can check out some prices:

There is a monopoly on the communications service. SO ur tele line, mobile line & ISP are all from the same company (Etisalat http://www.etisalat.co.ae/index2.htm). arse'oles! GSM coverage is good. U can choose from prepaid or line rental for both GSM & landlines.

Im not sure my dad is getting a job there, in three weeks, but he aint even sure which part its is, so how is it there, very egar so see what its like, im use to different culture been in africa most of my life

Well there isn't much do do here for entertainment. When expats try to organise an event it just becomes sad! Also you need a car to go everyehere as places are far away from each other & taxi cabs are SMELLY! The radio stations are the worst! They all have some expat DJ that's full of theirselvs  .
Oh and try to give Dubai Shopping Festival a miss

lol U can actually get alcohol from Dubai, but I'm in sharjah & can never be arsed going there!
Swazi: Proxied means that they block any web site that the think is 'unsuitable' for viewing!
