I tried to connect my p990i with my car's blue tooth

1. connected both devices. I can see P990i's name on my car's screen
and BMW on my P990i's screen
2. I clicked on connect in my p990i 4secs later connection failed....=.=

Can someone tell me the detailed procedure of how to connecting blue tooth. Thanks!

( I always thought I was good at gadget and now this P990i makes me feel dumb =.=)

Turn BT on phone on.
turn BT car kit on. (usually ignition)
set car kit to search for phone.
select phone.
on phone, enter passcode (0000)

phone and car kit should now be linked.

Happened to me a few times on various cars. I think the problem is the Symbian uiq 3.0 which your car doesn't know too well. Nothing to do about it really...

The Bluetooth on the phone is supposed to be OFF when pairing with the carkit. What carkit you got? I got a Parrot Ck3100 in mine. It mentions that with some PDA type phones, syncing needs to be done a different way. But it should be straightforward.

Anyways under the Bluetooth section there are

Blue tooth on (uncheck)
Visible to other devices (check)
enable power saving (uncheck)

Is that right?

Doesn't work on my 06 M5. This really sucks.

On the other hand, my JASJAR works great!
