Hi, my mate dropped his w810i in water. Didnt turn it on and left it a few days to dry out. Have turned it back on today and it boots up and the screen comes on, however the softkey options are not there so i canno get into the phone menu system and the buttons dont seem to work.

Anyway, all his numbers are stored on the phone and they are not backed up. Have tried to use myphoneexplorer to get the numbers off the phone however to no avail.. The problem is that my PC regonises the phone when i plug it in turned off and it can get into the file transfer mode, however for me to get the numbers off the phone has to be in phone mode. Problem is that my PC wont recognise the phone when i plug it in whilst it is turned on and there is no way for me to select phone mode as the buttons are not working and the screen isnt displaying the option.

Anyway, the fact i can get into the phones memory is there anyway i can get to the phone numbers and copy them down?

Does anyone have any suggestions or help?

Thanks in advance

Can you get Bluetooth turned on? If so you could try to Sync over Bluetooth.

Have you checked the SIM card in another phone? I thought by default the contacts were saved to the SIM card as well, (or maybe it was the MSPro card).

@thfcmad2

I may have a solution for your situation. Download myphone explorer 1.5.
This software has the capabilities to look inside your phone files.

There is a feature under the extras tab called ( Keypad ) you are able to use all your keypad features from your PC by clicking on the key you point to and it will activate the functions on your phone in a remote manner.

Hope this helps. Here is the link....

Hi, thanks for the reply, it was an excellent suggestion but i cant get the phone to sync. My PC will only recognise the phone when it is turned off, if i plug it in whilst it i turned on it does not recognise it. Unfortuantely for me to be able to sync the phone it has to be connected whilst switched on.
