If this has been brought up earlier just point me to the right thread cuz I didn't find an answer for my problem. Anyway..

I've got an IR adapter (a Tekram IRmate 410U) and when I try to connect to my phone it doesn't really work. The only thing it finds is the modem function in the phone (T300) not the phone itself.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution to the problem?

well I have t68i with irD and using windows XP it's working perfectully, I have no problem you may need to download the right software for the phone and for the irD, you may also try to uninstall the driver for the irD and try it again that also could help...

Well.. I shouldn't need any particular software for the phone since windoows' built in file transfer works like a charm (used it on Win2k and WinME)

And I've tried re-installing the drivers. A couple of times. I've even tried with an earlier beta version of the drivers. This is the second time this has happened. I tried another ir adapter a couple of weeks ago (can't remember the brand) and I had the exact same problems there.

I know it's not the cable tho, cuz I've tried connecting it to another computer (that's running WinME) and there I didn't have a problem transfering stuff to the phone.

At least your computer detects your phone as a modem. My computer restarts everytime I tried to connect my phone via IrDA even though I have the necessary softwares to do it.
