Hi all,
I need some straight answers. I bought a IOGEAR USB adaptor for my computer which works fine but as i understand there is alot of problems regarding sending file and receving files thru Bluetooth. Is taht right ? What i want to is have a pic -> right click -> Send -> Bluetooth -> t68i then the file should be send to my t68i. When i do this know the copmuter tells me that the service (FTP) isn't supported by my t68i. I heard that 3com made a update for this problem. Could this be the same problem ? I mean when i use IrDA it works without any problems at all. Please inform me whether i am doing something wrong or is it something i have to live with

PLEASE help because i am desperate to know

Best Regards

Hi there and welcome,
I've never heard of a IOGEAR bluetooth adapter but generally it should work. Have you got the latest IOGEAR driver? Have you got the latest Windows Service Pack?

Use the Search at the top of page. Your problem was most likely already discussed here

there is no FTP service on the T68i. check your phone manual for supported bluetooth profiles.

not necessarily. you can send pictures larger than the phone resolution, though it won't be displayed right.

Never heard of the problem.. However, it SHOULD not be a problem. As arnoldc said FTP is not supported. Always go the easiest way. Cut the pickture into the right size (101x80..I think)..try again.

The size doesn't matter. I just want to be able to sendt files to my T68i by bluetooth but i can't. Looks like theres no possibilities for this. I've checked IOGEAR but they haven't made any new drivers since i bought mine.

This has got nothing to do with 3Com ... I got one and it works fine with my T68m without the patch. One question though ... have you paired your BT device with the phone yet?

Since SonyEricsson's phones doesn't support the Send file (FTP) profile you have to use another software for that. The MobilePhoneMonitor from SonyEricsson uses the Bluetooth Virtual serial ports. With a prohgram like MyPictures from SonyEricsson or Sendfile from http://www.christersson.org/ you can easily send files to the phone through bluetooth/irda/cable.

You will not be able to right click on the file to send it, no one can do that, if you have \"my Bluetooth Places\" look under the services it shows for the t68i, there will be one called \"Inbox\", just drag and drop the files you want to transfer into that folder and the transfer will begin. The right click menu is for devises that support the FTP bluetooth profile which the T68i does not.. Hope this helps.

What I always do is

1 Start BT Manager on desktop and paired it with T68m

2 Click on 'send file' and select file

3 Sent!

I don't remember any settings to do with serial ports on my desktop (for sending files) other than the time when I need to connect to the internet using DUN.

Its simply a matter of profiles in the bluetooth device, either phone or e.g. dongle or pc-card.

If the card/dongle do not have ObjectPush/Object transfer like the phone, then you cannot send e.g. pictures, melodies.

The "old" Anycom bluetooth card I have, do not have these bluetooth profiles,..and I can't use it for sending pictures, melodies to the phone.

DUN (dial-up-network - using phone as modem) is the most common bluetooth profile,..its basically implemented on any bluetoothcard,...but these other more "phone-specific" profiles are more rare...although more and more companies tend to put these profiles on their cards/dongles as we move along.
