NTT DoCoMo will be launching a Panasonic phone that will automatically lock itself down when its owner moves beyond a certain distance.

Called the P903i, the new phone constantly emits a signal read by an electronic card that responds to the cellphone's unique frequency, When the distance between the two is too great, the phone locks itself.

Apparantly it doesn't......all it does is lock itself down, but i would think that would'nt be too hard to configure into this. [addsig]

Nothing new there, Blackberry have had this for a few years, you get a credit card smart card, that you keep on your person, and when it (you) and your blackberry are seperated by a distance it locks down and encripts your blackberry.

Works very well, we use it at work for sensitive data on the corperate blackberries.
