Do you know at this stage if there is going to be more than one 5.0mp cam announced?

Not necessarily!

I'll just console myself with one 5.0 MP cyber-shot flagship phone being announced as early as possible
SE can later churn out as many rehashes as they want but at least give us the first one quickly. |

Looking at the SE candybar portfolio as it stands on the UK website, there's only a few phones on there that are around 18 months old and that I can see SE replacing this year. These are phones such as the K750/W800/D750 (awesome little phone with a, then, top of the range camera) and the K600/V600 (business orientated non-smartphone for fast mobile browsing). The way I see it replacements for these models are the next likely to be announced which means, lie for like ad relative to current technology, Sofia and it's variants will replace K750 and it's variants (W800/D750) and a mid-high-end HSDPA phone (possibly UIQ, whatever codename) with variants to replace K600/V600. Could any insider confirm my SE fan optimistic logic and say that Sofia and another reasonably good phone will be in the next announcement definitely? |

Its possible that Sofia will be announced around June, July. Although worst comes to worst, we may have to wait till August till its announced, keeping in mind a September release. |

Two 5.0mp will be either a UMTS and EDGE versions (K850i and K830a)
OR
two devices significantly different enough to warrant two different index numbers - say K850i and W970i.
I wonder which?

Don't think w970i (that should be Maria, right?) will have 5mp. 5mp SHOULD be strictly cybershot for now.
But we could see two different 5mp phones. I don't see why not. (speculation only, I know nothing) |

I think more than likely they will just be region specific - K850i / K830a /c
Its the same pattern as the K800i / K790a / c.
I bet it will have a fastport on the side and buttons like the T650i
