I definitely don't want more than 5mp on phone camera. I think 3.2mp is more than enough. More mp make the pixel pitch too small and the picture will be noisy. Not to mention the requirement on phone memory. I want optical zoom and better high ISO (low light) instead. QVG video also a must I think.
Even dSLR community that I follow question the benefit of more than 10mp on APS-C size sensor. And this (APS-C) sensor is much2 bigger than phone camera's sensor. I think more and more ppl will understand that mp is not everything in good camera. There are other issues like noise, dynamic range, color, etc that define a good camera. |

Not sure about optical zoom to be honest. To have that sort of module the phone would have to physically be bigger which I dont think SE are keen on (and too right lol). It can also somtimes be a hinderance as the n93 pics arnt to much better than the n73 in some situations.
But your right 3.2mp is good but they have to have better video. |

I have a couple of ?s:
1) Will the successor to the M600 impliment the same type of keyboard?
2) Will SE cont. to use the "i", '"a" models . . .basically will there be more
offering for the US market in terms of 3G handsets. (I wish my M600
was 3g!!)
3) When can we expect to get some confirmations from SE?
I love to hear that there are great things for 07, but I hope its actually reality, the wait for the P990 was horrible! I hope to see some Tri-Band 3G phones from SE too!

drub, Firstly Sony dont make phones, so count that out...
now, to your questions.
1. The new m600 will most likely have the same keyboard, thought thats just a guess. But its logical. We know it will have a camera though and wifi, as will the new w950i, they will be similar phone, only the w*** will have  software.
2. Its more than likely the 'i' (international) will continue, as will the 'a' (America). And more American models are probably on the card as has so many phones in the pipeline for 07.
3. Announcements will be fairly soon, be patient  The major announcement will be at 3GSM as usual, but one will happen before then. I will not say any more.

How soon days,weeks,months.lol.the wait is painful.great fone for me would be m600 with at least 2 mgpixel cam af and flash, along with wifi. |

Well, Sony bought KM camera division (dSLR not compact) but many KM compact camera is very small with internal zoom (no lens protuding as they use mirror and move the lens element inside the body). Some cybershoot also use this technique but tad bigger than KM one. The phone will not be as small and slim as future Ai but I think the size of S700 can be achieve to provide 2x optical (internal) zoom.
And remember this may even require smaller sensor so bumping mp will mean less quality (noise). |

new infos from the insider at M-R
there are two more handset from this collection
they are cybershot brand one of them have 3.2mp + cam 3G the other have 2mp cam both low-mid end phones nice design nice price nice timing
se wil show alot of phones in the 1Q 2007 (somthing like samsung) |

the wait is excruciating. i want to see what these new "asian" cybershots will look like. (dont misinterpret that - i'm asian myself. but those Ai spyshots dont appeal to me the least)
not that i'd be replacing my k800 anytime soon though.
