I think they will only want to place autofocus in the more "important" phones, highend ones.

No. AutoFocus depends directly from Carl Zeiss Lens....However, the new Walkman phones use Samsung lens....
SE adopt this strategy in order to distinguish Cybershot from Walkman phones.
This new slider, being almost equal do w580, will keep the same philosophy. |

just have to clarify that that the CZ lens on Sony cybershot cameras are not the kind of CZ lens on SLR cameras, they're only CZ-certified and CZ-agreed-to-be-branded
if they use CZ lens on phones, they would have stated that explicitly, which they didn't (and it has to do with the CZ-Nokia phone buy-out deal too)
you're right that the Cybershot cellphones' lenses come from the same production line/standard as the other CZ-verified cybershot lenses, and you can indeed expect a marginally higher performance than that on Walkman phones; however the camera on Samsung D900 is really not bad at all, minus the speed. |

I'm not saying the camera is bot. Although it is a good camera, it won't support autofocus. SE doesn't want it.
About the CZ lens, you're absolutely right. |

i don't understand the excitement of walkman 3.0, what else are they gonna put in there? what else can they put in there? video walkman? optical line out? line-in recording? lol 5.1 surround sound? SRS WOW? |

Well, maybe Walkman v3.0 will support automatic audio transfering to stereo bluetooth headset. It will make wireless music listening a hell lot convinient.
Isn't that quite something to be excited about.

lol, nokia 5700 is NOTHING, I repeat nothing, compared to the music phones we're going to see from believe me, it ain't. The graphical UI will be enhanced a lot. we're not just talking the step from v. 1 to v. 2, we're talking the step from P900 to P910 afaik.

What do you mean with "graphical UI will be enhanced a lot". only the part of the walkman-interface or did SE change the whole UI ?
What can we expect from the graphical changes? ...will it be with more personalizable in structure, thems, fonts and other stuff like S40?

so talking about Walkman 3.0,some time ago it was said that it will have noise canceling?anybody confirm it or it was only a pure speculation?hope not the latter 
and about DSP chips,does anybody know what exactly chips are used in Nokia N91 and the 5700?Texas Instruments?Analog Devices?Linear Technology?What?And which ones are SE going to use?

The UI, of course..
Asyouhave noticed walkman v. 2 has themes,but not that "themeable" - this should be changed a bit, though nottoo much, as don't wan't you being ableto choose the layout of their brand or the essence of it, if you understand.
the noise cancelling features etc. are hardwarebased and not softwarebased. afaik v. 3 will support it, though. |
