Even if a W999 exists (Whitch I doubt, since the .wap on sony ericsson says "Copy right 2004" for the W999, and the S500, but says "Copyright 2007" for the P700 if you open the page using firefox, so I think they are old or canceled profiles) It wont have a QWERY keypad, for the same reason the W950 didn't have one. |

Hey guys.
I've been misinformed about the black slider. It IS going to be called S500, and it's codename is Shinobu.
Quad-band GSM
Dimensions: 99 x 47 x 14 mm
Weight: 94 gram
Launch: Q3
EDGE, USB, Bluetooth and A2DP.
Memory will be at 12 MB free internal, and it uses M2.
Screen: TFT QVGA 262k
Camera will be 2 megapixels without autofocus, and there is a lensprotector (slider).
EDIT: I remember Sneff saying, that you could be let into thinking that it was going to be named S580 in the end. But for now, it should be S500 afaik.

It's kinda like a non-walkman version, yes. Hardware-wise it'll be the same as W580. And the specs will be around W580's, too.

well have said they will target America more this year.... its such a big market, so the more phones that have quadband, the greater chance of higher profits obiously....

I am not sure why is holding back with the Cyber-Shots. I thought it wanted to replicate the success of phones.
There have only be 3 so far and the number of phones must be running into double figures now.

you mean the z750i with the accelerometer? (how ever you spell it) the thing where the screen turns when you turn the phone...

AFAIK, Shinobu is not the code name for W580's generic version. It's Laura. CMIIW. Shinobu is another phone.
