Hi,how good will it be to connect k508i to laptop for internet over Airtel gprs?the handset doesn't hav bluetooth:-(so i'm afraid as to whether the infrared port will give enough speed or not.pls guide me in this regard.thanks

@zdnet, the capability of fast ir port is more than enough for throughput of gprs and edge. Regards

If Ur handset is EDGE enabled then U could expect download speed between 16 & 25 KB/sec depending on the service in Ur location...call 121 then 1 then 4 & then 4 again 2 find out through airtels GPRS technical department abt Ur area.
But since 508i ain't EDGE enabled, don't expect nething more than 8KB/sec period. [addsig]

I forgot to mention that I used download speeds both the places considering U would use it to download off net so didn't mention the browsing speed which if U don't know already is abt 8 times the download speed. [addsig]

Thanks for the info.guess k508i data cable is available around without much difficulty as i may hav to go for one.presently I've an IR port alone.
