Well, according to this article http://www.mobil.se/nyheter/visa.asp?id=5812&sid=1 in mobil.se(swedish magazine) P800 will for sure be delayed until Q1 2003. They do not mention which market segment they are talking 'bout, but I suppose they mean Europe, but then again maybe just Skandinavia...
On a side note, I really think they should try to make their articles longer...

Telekiosken here in norway was told by someone "big" in SE that it would be available in Norway in a small amount before christmas, and in large amounts in january.. I dont know.. I just hope it is true |

What you have there is probably a loser@mobil that read the press release about the delay in UK but didn't understand it.
Their journalism really sucks. They make firm claims about new products, release dates and prices but never reveal any sources; they probably get their info from web-forums like this one. They are no more an authority in this industry than any of you.
Sometime soon you will probably see the pictures of that new siemens smart phone on their website.

Yes, I agree. But they sound so sure 'bout this one. But, hey I wouldn't take their word for it either... Nevertheless, we'll all just have to wait and see..

I didnt say that, the source sux basically  But they do reveal their source..

Hi I'm new to Esato and have been following the development of the P800 for months. I was also unhappy to hear about the P800 being put back in the UK, so I gave SonyEricsson UK ring to find why this has happen. They told me that it was down to the operators' GPRS networks not being fast enuff to support many of the features of the phone. When you look at it this kinda true, T-Mobile dont even have there own GPRS service in the UK yet! So the delay is not down to Sony Ericsson but the operators.

Från början sades det att P800 skulle släppas under kvartal tre i år. Sedan var det kvartal fyra som gällde. Nu står det klart att P800 inte kommer att släppas i år.
Sony Ericssons nya flaggskepp P800 har försenats gång på gång. Och det senaste budet, som återförsäljarna fått, är att den inte kommer alls under det här året.
- Den senaste informationen vi har är att P800 ska levereras först i januari, säger Daniel Lindholm, marknadsansvarig på Geab The phone house.
Telekomanalytikern John Strand har tidigare sagt till Mobil att förseningen är allvarlig för Sony Ericsson. Detta på grund av att det kommer finnas en uppsjö av konkurrenter när telefonen kommer ut, jämfört med om den släppts i tid. |
