Hi Guys, I'm new here. I just got my P990i and having a problem opening the back cover. The cover is way too tight, I tried to open it with lots of pressure but it still won't open. I was wondering if this is normal for P990i? Thanks in advanced.

Welcome to Esato! Yes, this is normal for the P990. Many others have had similar difficulties. I usually just hold the phone with the bottom facing away from me and press in the middle of the battery cover with my left thumb while sliding away from me with my right thumb. It has always worked well for me. It is tight, but it will come off. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks chriswg52, so I should press in the middle of the battery cover? I thought I should press on the upper part of the cover just right below the camera lens...

Update: Still won't open, I almost give up... Should I send this back to the store for an exchange?

@ Eli -- Sorry, what I meant was in the middle near the camera. It sounds like yours must be very difficult to open. I know some users in this forum have had to use a knife or something to wedge in at the top of the cover. Just press in really hard at the top middle, and push away really hard on the strip that sticks up at the bottom. If you can't get it, I would take it back and test a new one to make sure the cover comes off. Best of luck to you.
