I purchased a 2 GB card and tried to download mp3 format songs. It accepted a few and rejected most of the others. If I try to play them the phone simply hangs. I went and exchanged the same for 1gb card and the same thing occurs. But no problems with snaps I clicked and stored on the same card(s). Any suggestions?
I've tried both the SE software and direct file transfer system from windows XP, yet the same problem persists.

I think the problem may be with the mp3 files. It may be possible that the phone cannot handle certain (too high) bitrates, and I'm not sure the phone can handle variable bitrate either. You may have to resample your mp3 files before you put them in your phone. Of course, as already mentioned, it may be a firmware problem also. Since you have the same problem with two different memory cards, those are more unlikely to be the cause of the problem. |

my phone is w700i, with 256 mb MS Duo. i have the same problem with u. but it occurs after i format my MS Duo in FAT32 system, using my computer. as far as i know, SE using FAT system for MS Duo, not FAT32.
Try format your MS Duo with your SE PHONE, instead your computer.
i hope this will solve your problem.... |

Sometimes the phone hangs if you try to play the songs in the Walkman\\media player's Tracks options. I recommend using the Artist options because the tracks are sorted by artist name. Each folder for each artist. This problem occurs if you have many many mp3s or mony mp3s with higher bitrate. The best format for your songs i think is mp3 at 128kbps bitrat or 96kbps aac files. |
