 the problem is that hotmail doesnt at this time have a pop3 sever so the ohone cant connect to the site

 your slightly off there mate, while true that hotmail doesnt have a pop3 server that shouldnt affect the ability to send emails to a hotmail address as he is using O2 email settings to send the email not hotmails.
 
 i can send emails to hotmail addresses using my yahoo pop3 email settings. the problems either with o2 or with the person receiving them. they havent got o2.co.uk emails blocked or set to junk email have they? if not you may need to speak to o2.

 hi i was wondering if you have any advice for not being able to send emails on the sony k800i. i can recieve them fine and this site is really helpful but no one seems to be on virgin, on their home computer connection, can you help?so all the instructions don't seem to match up, is their something wrong with the virgin site that doean't allow to send emails from a mobile phone? hope some one can help, seems like this is a major problem to alot of people!
