ACTUALLY FOUND A WEBSITE THAT HAS A PRICE AND CAN BE PREORDERED!!!
Go to www.cdw.com ,
they have the MSXM8GS 8GB Pro Duo - the price is $525.99, which is about 413 Euro, or £280.
Hope this helps guys!!! |

will support it harry, cos originally when the w810i came out it said at the time only up to a 1gb card can be supported, but now since then more higher capacity cards (2GB & 4GB) are now available and basically the 8GB will work, it states it onthe memorystick website. |

you still dont believe me? its just the usual sony does when it releases a product, it brings out a phone and it says it can only support up to 1gb (when at the time 1gb are only available), then 2gb and now it can support 4gb , so it definately supports the 8gb, cant see why not, its the same format!!! heres the link to prove that it supports the w810i!!!!

Would it be likely that the W800i will also support 8GB? I certainly hope so because I've been looking forward to buying the 8GB for quite some time...

Why wouldn't it work?
We have the same discussion about this everytime a higher capacity card is released or announced. The 8gb will defiently work though they're could be more of a battery consumption, from the experience ive had with big capacity cards.
I'm not sure if anyone has yet attempted and purchased the £100.00+ 4gb but my guess is that it works.
...before long we'll have 16 and 32gb cards . |

well sheringham i completley agree with you, bcos i have a mate who has a w800i and has a 4gb ms pro duo in it, and he has had no problems, only thing he noticed was the slow access to files, you had to wait a minute or two for your mp3's to load onto the phone when you first turn it on. I cant see it being any different with the 8gb with the w800i and anyway it is the older cousin of the w810i and the system is basically identical! so the 8gb card should work! |
