Hi
Firstly I appologise for the length of this post.
Four days after I got my k800 I went to a theme park, went on a ride which goes upside down and it fell out. As you can probably imagine this didnt do the phone much good. It completly shattered the screen and is very dented.
The phone still turns on and I would like to try and extract my contacts from it. I have tried plugging via usb into my computer with some success and I was able to get all my files and photo's off it. Im not sure how i would go about getting my contacts as im new to this phone. The Sony Ericsson Software said that there is no phone connected. Does anyone know how I can get this working bearing in mind I cant see the screen.
Alternativly I have thought about using bluetooth. If anyone could guide me through the keys which I would have to press to send the contacts I would be very greatfull. Also does anyone know if there is any software I can put on my pc which can get access to the contacts.
If anyone has any other comments/suggestions I would appreciate hearing them.
Cheers Nick |

you can use your USB data cable and this software to make a backup of your contacts and all your files:

good luck.

Even without the screen, you can still do all the tasks by following the exact keystroke sequence,
(of course you'll have to know(or writedown) the keystroke sequences, before you do the operations you want.)
Using that trick, you can have at least two ways to recover your contact data:
1. follow the key sequences to send out contacts via IR or even bluetooth
(I suggest using IR in this case, it's much easier, as long as you make the IR ports of two phones facing each other)
2. follow the key sequences to copy contacts phonememory->sim.
then take out the sim and plug to the destination phone, and there copy sim->phonememory.

If the phone still turns on and makes/recieves calls it's repairable, sounds like the mainboard's ok which is the main and most important part of the phone. As under warranty could be fixed for free, if not the parts you'll need be on ebay.

You could send your contacts to the msd.
There was also a post long time ago where a member used a trick, I think it was in tips and tricks, to extract the contact file from the phone with a file manager.
